The Fuzzywumpus Flier!
Beginner Level:
This paper airplane is simple, requiring few folds, and it flies well. This plane is heavy in the nose so it flies best with a gentle launch.

Cardstock, Construction Paper, or Copy Paper

Glue

Scissors

Tape
-
Markers or Crayons if doing the coloring craft.

Instructions:

Cut out character piece.

Cut 1 inch strips of construction paper or card stock. Connect strips using tape to create longer length.

Attach character piece at front using tape or glue.

Trim ends to fit head size and then connect ends with tape.

Large Popsicle Stick

Any decorative embellishments you would like to use, such as felt, glitter, or feathers.
Instructions:

Print and cut out character
-
Embellish character as desired.

Using glue, attach to popsicle stick.

Allow an hour for drying.
"Fly, Land!" Game
(Based on Red Light, Green Light)

Construct your "Fly/Land" sign using the template and a large popsicle stick or paint stirrer.

Cut out badges and have safety pins or clothes pins handy.

Flipping sign to the correct side as you go, the leader shouts "Fly!" and "Land."

Children should "fly" with arms out. Flying around in circles, the children head toward the finish line. Dizzy falling down is part of the fun.

Children should freeze in a landing position when leader shouts "Land!"

The first child over the finish line gets a "Super Fast Flier" badge. The other children receive "Fantastic Flier" badges.
